Archeology

Archeology: Reminiscent of the history can be seen spread on different parts of this hill top will remind about the golden era of civilization once existed on this land in the bygone centuries.  Numerical historical monuments viz. square tanks, deep wells dug by cutting hard rocks without steps, remnants of fort, debris of castle, battle yards knows as "palayam",  signs of shrines etc. now visible seen on various spots on this hill top will speak out the importance of excavation to bring the sleeping history to the lime light.  The invariable necessity of preserving and protecting these historical monuments with high archeological values have already been brought to the notice of the Supremes of Archeology in the State and Center by certain history loving people in the locality.  But the authority of that department have miserably failed to do any thing fruitful in that line, other than visiting the place and preparing a report agreeing with the views of representatives.  By the refusal of taking any follow up steps, the archeological survey of India and the archeology department of Kerala have proved them selves to be the white elephants fed by the exchequer at the cost of tax payers.

Geology : The hillock is called Madaippara because as its verbal name denotes this is a formation of different types of layers of minerals and earth covered by flat and hard barren rock on the top surface. Below the  surface of hard rock is 10 meters depth red soil earth is formed in another 5 meters.  Yet under the same a layer of lignite soil and without field efficiency can be seen in 10 to 15 meters and below this ball clay payer remains in 10 meters depth .  When these layers of earth culminates at the sea level a deposit of china day mineral can be seen to the thickness of 5 to 10 metes below the sea  level.  This layer conditions of earth in Madaippara heaps in preserving waters inside the bowels without allowing speedily drain of the water to the river and sea during monsoon.
