The Great Festival (Maholsav)
of the temple flags on the day on which “Thiruvathira” in the
month “dhanu” (Malayalam Era) occurs every year, which will be
either in the last of December or in the first week of January.
“Thiruvathira” is the birth star of Lord Siva. The duration of
festival is Eight days and the holy dip of deity takes place on
the Eighth day morning. The village procession of deity on
elephant back, daily special rituals and poojas, divine deity
dance (Thidambu Nrutham), Pallivetta and other cultural
activities, fireworks etc are the specialties of the festival. |

Mahasivaratri |
|
The “Shivarathri” also is
celebrated in the temple in its delightful festivity on Maha Shivaratri
day annually. Special will be conducted in the evening after day long "Agandanapajapam".
Also night long cultural activities will make the festival colourful. |

Prathishttaa Day |
|
After renovation, on 8th May 1992, 11 day long prathishttaa Kalasam has
done in Temple in the presence of Kattumadom Thantri. The same of the
every year will be celebrated as Prathishtta Day. |

Pooram |
|
"Pooram" festival during March every year was a ceremonial function
related to "Madaikavu" Temple conducted time immemorial. With the
resurrection of "Vadukunda" Siva temple and its renaissance in 1992, the
annual festival of this temple also began and added the richness of
cultural heritage of the Hindu Society, centrazing "Madai Para" the
mother land of worshippers.

We perform Dawn
to Dusk Non-stop "Om Nama Shivaya Japam" (Aghanda Napa Japam) on all
Prodhosha Pooja Day for the last 15 years participating local
devotees of in and around villages. For many years people of
this locality are participating in this prodhosha pooja and
getting blessings of Lord Vadukundappan. You can take receipt of
Prodhosha Pooja receipt for Rs 15/- |
